Gloucestershire Engineering Training is a very unique engineering training association and has a long standing history of delivering high quality bespoke engineering provision to all sizes of engineering and manufacturing companies within Gloucestershire. We train apprentices in a variety of disciplines including Mechanical, Electrical, Welding/Fabrication & Maintenance. We also offer a dual skill programme for those employers who require multi-skilled individuals. All provision is delivered in house and includes practical skills delivery and academic provision at National and Higher National Diploma level. The organisation has charitable status and is strategically directed by local engineering and manufacturing businesses from within Gloucestershire.
The engineering training centre is based on Corinium Avenue, Barnwood, and boasts just short of 23,000 square foot of workshop space and classrooms equipped with a variety of traditional machinery and the latest technology. Learners undertake the first year off-the-job element of their apprenticeship programme at the training centre which can accommodate up to 130 apprentices. Learners undertake a mixture of practical and academic learning and experience both off and on-the-job learning.
As an organisation who is committed to delivering apprenticeship provision, we are proud to be sponsoring the Apprenticeship Development Category at this year’s Stroud Life Business Awards. We strongly believe in the value and benefits of developing young people and feel it is important to recognise those organisations who have an ongoing commitment to employing apprentices.
