Essentially Me is an artisan perfumery producing natural fragrances for people with a true passion for perfume.

Based in a former woollen mill in the heart of the beautiful Stroud Valleys, Essentially Me delivers unrivalled expertise in developing sophisticated natural fragrance blends for people searching for a unique scent for any occasion.  A range of scents, available in Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette strengths, reflects a wide diversity of natural aromatics and ensures that there is a scent for everyone.

One of the company’s aims as a niche perfumery is to recreate the golden age of perfume making, manufacturing delicate and complex fragrances from the finest natural aromatic ingredients available.  These could include the ethereal floral essences of mimosa, gardenia and pink lotus, exotics such as labdanum, tonka bean and myrrh, or the unmistakeable aromas of sandalwood, vetivert and tobacco.

“If we describe a fragrance as containing notes of jasmine, that means there really is jasmine in the bottle,” comments Alec Lawless, renowned perfumer and founder of Essentially Me.  “Unlike commercial perfume companies which choose not to work with natural aromatics due to cost and seasonal variations in each harvest, and therefore rely on synthetic fragrance compounds, we source the finest natural aromatics from all around the world to create a unique, signature scent for our customers.”

Essentially Me, founded in 2009, was an natural business development for Alec, who has spent 20 years sourcing oils for his essential oils company, Aqua Oleum.  The combination of his passion for natural fragrance, an enviable portfolio of strong relationships with worldwide suppliers, and an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of natural aromatics ensures that Essentially Me delivers a quality, luxury product for event the most discerning customers!  Best sellers include Empress of India, created especially by Alec for BBC TV’s ‘The Victorian Pharmacy’, and Trade Wind.
Essentially Me’s range of 10 sophisticated perfumes is available on-line (www.essentially-me.co.uk) in Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette strengths, in 56ml Italian Flint glass bottles.  All perfumes are also available in 1ml miniature sizes and are sold either in gift cards or sets of five, enabling customers to experiment with a selection of fragrances.

Essentially Me also offers a bespoke perfume creation service for private clients, boutiques and spas, as well as a range of perfumery workshops and courses for amateur enthusiasts and professionals alike.

The company has also recently ‘unveiled’ its new Wedding Range, offering Hen parties with a difference, bespoke experiences for Brides and Grooms and personalised wedding favours.
